Which Cities Have Been Affected by the Boil Water Advisory?
In addition to the city of Wichita, the boil water advisory affected the following cities that use water from Wichita:
- Andover
- Derby
- Kechi
- Rose Hill
- Valley Center
- Sedgwick County Rural Water Districts 1, 2, and 3
As the KDHE completed testing in each area, they lifted the boil order once they knew it was safe. Some areas were clear as early as Wednesday, June 8th, while others had to wait until Friday, June 10th.
Signs You Drank Contaminated Water
If you drink contaminated water, it usually takes about 24 to 48 hours to start showing symptoms. Common symptoms include the following:
- Diarrhea
- Abdominal cramps
- Nausea
- Vomiting
